Hrithik Roshan does a cameo in Don 2 for free!

It is well-known that Hrithik Roshan is a close friend of Farhan Akhtar and Shahrukh Khan. Well, this seems to have made the Krrish star to do a cameo in upcoming movie Don 2 without even taking a single pie for his work.

Reports say that Hrithik Roshan will be seen in the guest role, which lasts for 10 minutes, in upcoming movie Don 2. The actor, who has turned down a series of offers to do cameo from many filmmakers, accepted the offer only because of his friendship with Farhan-Shahrukh and refused to take remuneration for it.

However, Don 2: The Chase Continues is a sequel to the 2006 blockbuster movie Don: The Chase Begins Again. The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor, Om Puri and Boman Irani in the leads. It is hitting the screens on December 23.

Hrithik Roshan to unmask the real Shah Rukh Khan?

While we all know Hrithik Roshan is doing a cameo in Don 2, rumours about his character in the Shah Rukh Khan film are already doing the rounds.

Hrithik Roshan doing a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 is old news now. A year-old to be precise! What he is playing in the film makes for a better scoop. Though both Hrithik and Shah Rukh are superstars in their own right, one wonders what scope would Hrithik have in a franchise that belongs completely to Shah Rukh.

Though the makers wanted Hrithik's presence in the film as a surprise, the news leaked last year when the actor went to Berlin where Shah Rukh Khan was shooting for Don 2. Initially everyone thought Hrithik went to wish SRK on his birthday but he was soon caught on camera shooting for the film. Some versions suggested he was the villain in Don 2 while others claimed it was a good idea to get the star power of Hrithik and Shah Rukh together in the same frame, which never happened since Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum.

However if recent rumours are to be believed, Hrithik and Shah Rukh are no different in Don 2. Sources suggest that the Hrithik Roshan you will get to see in Don 2 will pull off his face mask after a point and Shah Rukh will emerge from within. So it is actually the Don in Hrithik Roshan's guise who is 'undercover'. The makers will choose to remain tight-lipped about this though.

A similar story had originated close to the release of Dhoom 2 where it was rumoured that in the climax Hrithik Roshan (once again) would pull off his face mask and John Abraham (who was the villain of the first part) would emerge from within. While we all know it just turned out to be a rumour, let's wait and watch how true of false is this one.

Krrish 2 To Roll Soon

Talking about Hrithik’s physical condition, the launching of his dad, Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 2 has had to be postponed because of it. The Krrish sequel was to have started in September but the commencement was pushed ahead by a month. The cameras couldn’t roll in October too and, therefore, a date in November was decided for the film to mount the sets under the belief that Hrithik’s back problem would be cured by then. But with the actor still in agonising pain, Rakesh Roshan had to postpone the launch yet again. Finally, the film is scheduled to start on 1st December but Hrithik will join the unit only in mid-February. It is, perhaps, for the first time that Rakesh Roshan will shoot for more than two months without his hero-son facing the cameras during that time.

Hrithik Roshan’s Ill Health Will Not Postpone Agneepath

For all those who think, Hrithik Roshan’s severe back problem could result in the release of Agneepath getting postponed, they are widely off the mark. It is learnt that the Hrithik-Sanjay Dutt starrer will definitely come on 26th January 2012, as scheduled. The bed-ridden star has completed his work in Agneepath except for a song in which he needs to be seated most of the time. Yes, but the unfortunate consequence of Hrithik’s malady is that he may not be able to give any time to the eagerly awaited film’s promotion as he is indeed in severe pain.

Hrithik in Don 2?

A 'secret' role had Hrithik Roshan flying in to Berlin for Farhan Akhtar's next
Hrithik Roshan flew off last night to Berlin for a hush-hush shoot the film in question being Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 - The Chase Continues.

Says a source, "Recently, there was buzz about Hrithik joining in Shah Rukh Khan's birthday celebrations as he's extremely close to King Khan.
While that may be true, the real reason for Duggu's departure to Berlin is being kept under wraps. Apparently, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were keen that Hrithik do a special cameo in Don 2."

Adds the source, "Roshan's character is a stylised one with interesting shades and they felt only he could do justice to it. But Farhan and Ritesh want to keep Hrithik's role hidden till the film's release as it's one of the highlights of Don 2.

Duggu is very close to Farhan and Ritesh (he acted in Farhan's Lakshya, made a special appearance in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance and is also in Zoya's next Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara) and he couldn't refuse them."

Besides the character, the source insists that the Roshan boy's presence would add star-studded value to the film. "Hrithik and Shah Rukh will come together again in Don 2 after Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. They shared an amazing chemistry and are close friends even today.

Don 2 Wallpeper

The audience would love to see SRK and Hrithik again come together in some explosive scenes. Don 2 has highly specialised and daring stunts performed by Shah Rukh and Duggu might be seen in a stunt or two himself. He will be in Berlin for a week."

Hrithik and Ritesh remained unavailable for comment.

Besides SRK, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Kunal Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are also in Don 2.

Injured Hrithik back to work

Despite his doctor's advice, the injured actor resumes shooting for 'Agneepath' to complete the filming as per the schedule

His back hasn't recovered completely, but that hasn't stopped Hrithik Roshan from returning to the filming of Agneepath. Doctors have however warned that further stress on his back could make the injury chronic.

Since the film's release on January 26 seemed jeopardised by the leading man's unexpected health setback, any further delay seemed impossible. Disregarding all caution including that from producer Karan Johar, the actor shot last week, albeit under very heavy medical monitoring.

Says a source, "Hrithik wasn't allowed to do strenuous scenes. He shot only the dialogue portions. The action sequences have been pushed to later and may be done with a body double if necessary."

Confirming the actor's return  to the sets, father Rakesh Roshan said, "Hrithik shot for three days for Agneepath. He is taking it very slowly and carefully."

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra rushed back to the country, to resume shooting. With her Agneepath co-star Hrithik injured and her Barfee co-star busy promoting Rockstar, Piggy Chops managed to put in all her time to making her music album.

Says a source, "She had clearly told Anurag Basu and Rakesh Roshan to call her back whenever she is required. Last week both the filmmakers received calls from Priyanka asking, 'Sir, when do you want me back?'" Director Anurag Basu says, "We resume filming Barfee this week in Ooty and Kochi."

Is Hrithik Roshan a threat to Shahrukh and Salman Khan?

With Hrithik reaching the one million followers mark on Twitter, we wonder if he can overtake the two Khans

When Hrithik Roshan’s muscle-bound wax avatar made a starry entry in Madam Tussauds, it was considered a warning of sorts to the two big Khans of B-town. Hrithik showed that he’s serious competition to Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan and not just on the acting turf – in terms of mass-popularity too he’s equally potent. And now the 37-year-old Krrish actor just might overtake the two Khans on cyberspace. Yes, Hrithik Roshan has become the third Indian celebrity to cross a whopping one million followers on Twitter. While Shahrukh was the first male Bollywood actor to cross that mark with his undeniable charm,  Salman Khan achieved the feat after his famous string of hits like Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard. Looks like with Hrithik joining the exclusive club, it’s time for the two Khans to start feeling the heat. Will Hrithik race ahead of Salman and Shahrukh? What do you think?

Hrithik is back in action

Hrithik Roshan seems to be going the Shah Rukh Khan way, as far as injuries and illnesses are concerned.

Last year, the Agneepath actor suffered a knee injury that kept him off his feet for months. And now, Hrithik is bed ridden again, this time with a severe slipped disc. The condition, according to sources, could persist for 2-3 weeks at the least. It could go on for much longer.

While Hrithik's father Rakesh Roshan played down the superstar's condition, the actor's friend Arjun Rampal let the cat out while explaining the reason behind Hrithik's absence at the Lady Gaga concert in Arjun's club Lap in Delhi

"Hrithik isn't allowed to travel. He has a serious form of the slipped disc which needs careful recuperation. He can't afford to take it lightly. He can't fly. I missed him. I really wish Hrithik was there. He would've had a blast," said Arjun about his friend.

Needless to say, Hrithik's condition would have an adverse effect on his schedules for Agneepath and subsequently Krissh 3, which is scheduled to start immediately after Karan Johar's production.

While Agneepath director Karan Malhotra chose not to reply to our query about the film's schedule being affected by Hrithik's health, Rakesh Roshan said, "He has no slipped disc. Just a back pain. He has been advised rest for 2 to 3 weeks."

Interview: Farhan obsessed with Don

Tell us something about Don 2.

I really don’t know what to say about the film as that way I will be giving out the whole story. It has been fun, challenging yet satisfying journey so far to make this movie. I was guilty of saying that I won’t probably make a sequel of Don, but my obsession with the character got the better of me. With amazing help and support and almost a sharing of vision with Ritesh (Sidhwani, producer) and Shah Rukh and rest of the team, I could not help but make Don 2.

Isha Koppikar has been dropped in Don 2?

There are two-three characters from Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) who won’t be continuing in the sequel. One of them is that of Jasjit (played by Arjun Rampal), then there is that of Anita (Ishaa Koppikar) and there was a cop Inspector Verma…even he is not in the sequel. The screenplay and story didn’t need those characters to come into this one…that’s the reason why you don’t see them in this film.

Who is the ‘King’ of Don 2: The King is Back?

The King of Don 2 is undoubtedly Shah Rukh Khan.

Did you consult your father and writer Javed Akhtar on the script of Don 2?

Whatever film I write, I give it to him (Javed Akhtar) to read. I want him to give his feedback on screenplay, dialogues. He is somebody who is extremely experienced, somebody who is very good with the art and craft of writing; and fortunately I have this kind of access to him. It makes sense for me to use him and I use him to get feedback on not only this, but every script.

When you were making Don: The Chase Begins Again, you consulted Salim Khan (Salim-Javed being the screenplay writer of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don in 1978). Did you do the same this time too?

I had gone to him to request him to give permission to make the film. I thought it was important that people who worked on the earlier film be happy with the remake we had made. So I met him regarding that, not the screenplay or such things. He was very, very kind and completely wished us all the best for the remake. Hopefully that applies to the sequel as well.

In the 2006 film, you retained some of the dialogues from the 1978 film like Don Ko Pakadna Mushkil Hi Nahi Namumkin Hai. Are you trying some new lines in the sequel or want to carry forward the legacy?

There are other dialogues in the film of course. For us, the line you just spoke about, strike a chord. But who knows, may be some other dialogue Don says in Don 2, might match out to the audience. While writing dialogues and thinking about the style of the dialogues, I knew that the approach has to be to write it in a way that films of that time (1970s) were written, where people spoke with a bit of theatrical sense. There was a lot more drama in the lines. So I maintained the approach as it gives you good feeling and also makes the film sound different. It takes you back to the times when you got to see films like this where you know every dialogue was a DIALOGUE.  So it is written with that in mind. But again, whatever people take from that, is upto them. There are fun lines in the film, hopefully they will enjoy.

Did you ever think of another actor for Don, had Shah Rukh said ‘no’ to you?

I don’t even want to think about that. When I started out to make the film, I wanted Shah Rukh to play the character and he loved the part. Beyond that, I stopped thinking about any other actor as I got the person I wanted for my film.

Social networking sites are flooding comments since Don 2 trailer was put on Youtube.  What is the best compliment you have got so far?

The best compliment I have got about the film so far is ‘Thank You for making Don 2’…that’s the sweetest thing one can say with minimum words.

Hrithik Roshan’s tryst with magic, on the wheel chair!

Hazelnut eyes, an impish smile, a body to die for and dancing skills that can sweep any woman off her feet - well that’s Hrithik Roshan for you. But that isn’t all that makes him the actor he is.

Everyone knows how hard it was for Hrithik Roshan to carry forward the legacy of his father, producer-director Rakesh Roshan and that of his grandfather, the great Roshan. But all that matters now is the fact that the scion of the Roshan family has succeeded, no matter what. This strength of his character is pretty much reinforced by each of his portrayals on the 70 mm and Guzaarish’s Ethan Mascarenhas was no exception.
If you thought that it was a cakewalk for Hrithik to sit on that wheelchair and mumble, then you’re certainly mistaken. So, what went into preparing for a role considered one of the most memorable depictions of a disabled person in the history of Indian cinema? We’ve got you the answer, right from the horse’s mouth!
Bollywood’s very own Greek God, Hrithik Roshan is among the lucky five, who have made it to the final voting round in the Abhineta No. 1 category of the country’s most democratic people’s choice awards - Bhaskar Bollywood Awards and we got Hrithik, revealing to us, what all went into pulling off one of the most memorable performances of his career.
Getting even with Ethan
"I lived a paralytic life on a wheel chair, for three months," is Hrithik’s first memory of shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. Hrithik, who’s known to be a spontaneous actor, had to adopt method acting for the same. And, he was more than successful in portraying a paralytic individual, who has to be on a wheel chair for the rest of his life.
Hrithik, who was immobile for three months, during his preparation for the role of Ethan Mascarenhas, says it was all was worth it.
“Pulling off life on a wheel chair is difficult and I salute and admire those who are going through it," says an empathetic Hrithik.
Roshan, who’s a fitness freak, had to quit his workouts for more than five months and he also ended up skipping his routine diet for the character.
"I skipped my fitness regime and diet to show a fat belly, I ended up gaining 20-odd kilos for the role," adds Roshan.
Speaking about the look he sported in the film, the actor exclaims, "Growing beard and hair were also the key criterias in the preparing for the role. Mr. Bhansali was too specific and strict about the same."
For this versatile actor, who is also a perfectionist, it was lovely to learn new things for the film, some of them being, learning magic (since he played a magician) and taking a brief training in Radio Jockeying.
Even experienced actors end up being jittery, when they’re preparing for the biggest roles of their careers and so was Hrithik, "I was skeptical about the role because I was evolved enough as an actor and was apprehensive about whether I'd be able to translate Mr Bhansali's creative genius onscreen, but when he narrated the script to me, he made me cry and laugh at the same time, and I couldn't wait to start working," concludes Roshan.

Eros to distribute Agneepath

When Karan Johar announced the remake of Agneepath, fans and the industry was abuzz about who the character of Amitabh Bachchan would be played by. Once Hrithik Roshan was selected to reprise the role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, trade specialists started to speculate on who the film will be distributed by, since Johar was not co-producing this Hrithik-Priyanka starrer with UTV Motion Pictures like his other recent projects, with the exception of My Name Is Khan which was distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The film’s release date was in the news recently, because it will clash with Priyadarshan’s Tezz on the 26th January 2012. Johar, who is usually someone who does favours to others in the industry, refused to shift the release date of Karan Malhotra’s directorial venture, after meeting producer Ratan Jain.

We guess we won’t hear the words “we are a big family, we should call ourselves a film fraternity, not an industry” from Karan ten times in a sentence anytime soon.
Now the exclusive news is that our source at Dharma Productions has confirmed that Eros International Ltd. will distribute the film overseas. While Johar has worked with Yash Raj Films and UTV for films distribution, it will be the first time that the production house will work with Eros International Ltd. since Karan became chairman of Dharma Productions after the sad demise of his father, Yash Johar.
We will be bringing you more exclusive news on Agneepath. So, stay tuned to BollySpice!

Krrish, super impressed with Ra.One…

For Shahrukh Khan’s kids, Krrish has always been their favorite superhero. And Hrithik Roshan is very well aware of this fact. However, Duggu decided to reciprocate the love he has always received.
After watching Ra.One, Hrithk Roshan couldn’l stop showering his praises on SRK’s performance. He wrote on twitter: “It takes a Lot of HEART to be a superhero with a H.A.R.T !! Way to go @iamsrk (Shahrukh Khan)!!! Truly UNBELIEVABLE cinema!!!! Congrats to the ENTIRE RA1 team!”
Duggu also complimented Arjun Rampal for his flawless performance as the antagonist of the movie:“@rampalarjun DUDE!!! U’ve taken it to a WHOLE new level!! INSANE!!! BEST negative performance EVER! World class body aesthetics! BRAVO!!”

In reply to Hrithik, Arjun Rampal wrote: “@iHrithik wow thanks brother. Now get to Delhi for F1. Love u.”

No First Day Record For Ra.One

Ra.One will not set a new first day record as the final day collections coming in are well off record pace especially in North and Central India. Some circuits are 50% short of Bodyguard while others are similar.

Bodyguard collected 20.60 crore nett on day one and Ra.One will stay well below that even if the dubbed Tamil and Telegu versions collections are added to the collections of the Hindi version.

Delhi, Punjab, UP and MP were hit hard by Diwali puja as the film went as low as 25% for some shows in these regions and even after Diwali puja collections were no way near the morning levels.

Hrithik Roshan in 'Don 2'?

'Don 2' is amongst the most awaited films of 2011. Right from the first look that producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar revealed, to the first poster, to the first promo of the film , the film has been making the right noise.

A strong rumor doing the rounds since quite some time is that 'Don 2' features Hrithik Roshan in the negative lead. The makers have kept his character under wraps, since they want the audiences to feel shocked when they watch SRK and Hrithik battle on the big screen. In fact, Hrithik's pics were splashed all over when he visited Berlin, while the shoot of 'Don 2' was in progress. But Farhan Akhtar denies it outright. “Hrithik visited Berlin as a friend. He's not part of DON 2 cast. But, yes, there's a possibility that Hrithik and I may work together in the future,” the talented actor/director stated
