Krrish 2 To Roll Soon

Talking about Hrithik’s physical condition, the launching of his dad, Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 2 has had to be postponed because of it. The Krrish sequel was to have started in September but the commencement was pushed ahead by a month. The cameras couldn’t roll in October too and, therefore, a date in November was decided for the film to mount the sets under the belief that Hrithik’s back problem would be cured by then. But with the actor still in agonising pain, Rakesh Roshan had to postpone the launch yet again. Finally, the film is scheduled to start on 1st December but Hrithik will join the unit only in mid-February. It is, perhaps, for the first time that Rakesh Roshan will shoot for more than two months without his hero-son facing the cameras during that time.

Hrithik Roshan’s Ill Health Will Not Postpone Agneepath

For all those who think, Hrithik Roshan’s severe back problem could result in the release of Agneepath getting postponed, they are widely off the mark. It is learnt that the Hrithik-Sanjay Dutt starrer will definitely come on 26th January 2012, as scheduled. The bed-ridden star has completed his work in Agneepath except for a song in which he needs to be seated most of the time. Yes, but the unfortunate consequence of Hrithik’s malady is that he may not be able to give any time to the eagerly awaited film’s promotion as he is indeed in severe pain.

A 'secret' role had Hrithik Roshan flying in to Berlin for Farhan Akhtar's next
Hrithik Roshan flew off last night to Berlin for a hush-hush shoot the film in question being Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 - The Chase Continues.

Says a source, "Recently, there was buzz about Hrithik joining in Shah Rukh Khan's birthday celebrations as he's extremely close to King Khan.
While that may be true, the real reason for Duggu's departure to Berlin is being kept under wraps. Apparently, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were keen that Hrithik do a special cameo in Don 2."

Adds the source, "Roshan's character is a stylised one with interesting shades and they felt only he could do justice to it. But Farhan and Ritesh want to keep Hrithik's role hidden till the film's release as it's one of the highlights of Don 2.

Duggu is very close to Farhan and Ritesh (he acted in Farhan's Lakshya, made a special appearance in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance and is also in Zoya's next Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara) and he couldn't refuse them."

Besides the character, the source insists that the Roshan boy's presence would add star-studded value to the film. "Hrithik and Shah Rukh will come together again in Don 2 after Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. They shared an amazing chemistry and are close friends even today.

Don 2 Wallpeper

The audience would love to see SRK and Hrithik again come together in some explosive scenes. Don 2 has highly specialised and daring stunts performed by Shah Rukh and Duggu might be seen in a stunt or two himself. He will be in Berlin for a week."

Hrithik and Ritesh remained unavailable for comment.

Besides SRK, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Kunal Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are also in Don 2.

Injured Hrithik back to work

Despite his doctor's advice, the injured actor resumes shooting for 'Agneepath' to complete the filming as per the schedule

His back hasn't recovered completely, but that hasn't stopped Hrithik Roshan from returning to the filming of Agneepath. Doctors have however warned that further stress on his back could make the injury chronic.

Since the film's release on January 26 seemed jeopardised by the leading man's unexpected health setback, any further delay seemed impossible. Disregarding all caution including that from producer Karan Johar, the actor shot last week, albeit under very heavy medical monitoring.

Says a source, "Hrithik wasn't allowed to do strenuous scenes. He shot only the dialogue portions. The action sequences have been pushed to later and may be done with a body double if necessary."

Confirming the actor's return  to the sets, father Rakesh Roshan said, "Hrithik shot for three days for Agneepath. He is taking it very slowly and carefully."

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra rushed back to the country, to resume shooting. With her Agneepath co-star Hrithik injured and her Barfee co-star busy promoting Rockstar, Piggy Chops managed to put in all her time to making her music album.

Says a source, "She had clearly told Anurag Basu and Rakesh Roshan to call her back whenever she is required. Last week both the filmmakers received calls from Priyanka asking, 'Sir, when do you want me back?'" Director Anurag Basu says, "We resume filming Barfee this week in Ooty and Kochi."

Is Hrithik Roshan a threat to Shahrukh and Salman Khan?

With Hrithik reaching the one million followers mark on Twitter, we wonder if he can overtake the two Khans

When Hrithik Roshan’s muscle-bound wax avatar made a starry entry in Madam Tussauds, it was considered a warning of sorts to the two big Khans of B-town. Hrithik showed that he’s serious competition to Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan and not just on the acting turf – in terms of mass-popularity too he’s equally potent. And now the 37-year-old Krrish actor just might overtake the two Khans on cyberspace. Yes, Hrithik Roshan has become the third Indian celebrity to cross a whopping one million followers on Twitter. While Shahrukh was the first male Bollywood actor to cross that mark with his undeniable charm,  Salman Khan achieved the feat after his famous string of hits like Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard. Looks like with Hrithik joining the exclusive club, it’s time for the two Khans to start feeling the heat. Will Hrithik race ahead of Salman and Shahrukh? What do you think?

Hrithik is back in action

Hrithik Roshan seems to be going the Shah Rukh Khan way, as far as injuries and illnesses are concerned.

Last year, the Agneepath actor suffered a knee injury that kept him off his feet for months. And now, Hrithik is bed ridden again, this time with a severe slipped disc. The condition, according to sources, could persist for 2-3 weeks at the least. It could go on for much longer.

While Hrithik's father Rakesh Roshan played down the superstar's condition, the actor's friend Arjun Rampal let the cat out while explaining the reason behind Hrithik's absence at the Lady Gaga concert in Arjun's club Lap in Delhi

"Hrithik isn't allowed to travel. He has a serious form of the slipped disc which needs careful recuperation. He can't afford to take it lightly. He can't fly. I missed him. I really wish Hrithik was there. He would've had a blast," said Arjun about his friend.

Needless to say, Hrithik's condition would have an adverse effect on his schedules for Agneepath and subsequently Krissh 3, which is scheduled to start immediately after Karan Johar's production.

While Agneepath director Karan Malhotra chose not to reply to our query about the film's schedule being affected by Hrithik's health, Rakesh Roshan said, "He has no slipped disc. Just a back pain. He has been advised rest for 2 to 3 weeks."

Interview: Farhan obsessed with Don

Tell us something about Don 2.

I really don’t know what to say about the film as that way I will be giving out the whole story. It has been fun, challenging yet satisfying journey so far to make this movie. I was guilty of saying that I won’t probably make a sequel of Don, but my obsession with the character got the better of me. With amazing help and support and almost a sharing of vision with Ritesh (Sidhwani, producer) and Shah Rukh and rest of the team, I could not help but make Don 2.

Isha Koppikar has been dropped in Don 2?

There are two-three characters from Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) who won’t be continuing in the sequel. One of them is that of Jasjit (played by Arjun Rampal), then there is that of Anita (Ishaa Koppikar) and there was a cop Inspector Verma…even he is not in the sequel. The screenplay and story didn’t need those characters to come into this one…that’s the reason why you don’t see them in this film.

Who is the ‘King’ of Don 2: The King is Back?

The King of Don 2 is undoubtedly Shah Rukh Khan.

Did you consult your father and writer Javed Akhtar on the script of Don 2?

Whatever film I write, I give it to him (Javed Akhtar) to read. I want him to give his feedback on screenplay, dialogues. He is somebody who is extremely experienced, somebody who is very good with the art and craft of writing; and fortunately I have this kind of access to him. It makes sense for me to use him and I use him to get feedback on not only this, but every script.

When you were making Don: The Chase Begins Again, you consulted Salim Khan (Salim-Javed being the screenplay writer of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don in 1978). Did you do the same this time too?

I had gone to him to request him to give permission to make the film. I thought it was important that people who worked on the earlier film be happy with the remake we had made. So I met him regarding that, not the screenplay or such things. He was very, very kind and completely wished us all the best for the remake. Hopefully that applies to the sequel as well.

In the 2006 film, you retained some of the dialogues from the 1978 film like Don Ko Pakadna Mushkil Hi Nahi Namumkin Hai. Are you trying some new lines in the sequel or want to carry forward the legacy?

There are other dialogues in the film of course. For us, the line you just spoke about, strike a chord. But who knows, may be some other dialogue Don says in Don 2, might match out to the audience. While writing dialogues and thinking about the style of the dialogues, I knew that the approach has to be to write it in a way that films of that time (1970s) were written, where people spoke with a bit of theatrical sense. There was a lot more drama in the lines. So I maintained the approach as it gives you good feeling and also makes the film sound different. It takes you back to the times when you got to see films like this where you know every dialogue was a DIALOGUE.  So it is written with that in mind. But again, whatever people take from that, is upto them. There are fun lines in the film, hopefully they will enjoy.

Did you ever think of another actor for Don, had Shah Rukh said ‘no’ to you?

I don’t even want to think about that. When I started out to make the film, I wanted Shah Rukh to play the character and he loved the part. Beyond that, I stopped thinking about any other actor as I got the person I wanted for my film.

Social networking sites are flooding comments since Don 2 trailer was put on Youtube.  What is the best compliment you have got so far?

The best compliment I have got about the film so far is ‘Thank You for making Don 2’…that’s the sweetest thing one can say with minimum words.
